First of all, I'd like to welcome you to my blog. My intention's to make it a place for cherishing great memories of working with school children. Here you'll find some tips, projects done by my pupils, their essays and poems, video clips (I don't know if it's me, but my pupils really enjoy singing), and things that can be interesting and useful.

Eric Carle's World
Since my pupils enjoyed Eric Carle's books, I've decided to create an online board game for them to revise what they've heard and have fun.

The Very Busy Spider
My 7-year-olds love drawing different animals, but I think that they love making animal noises even more. So, another Eric Carle's book was just the right choice for them.

Summer holidays before Corona
Do you remember your summer holiday before Corona? Write about it. Use the game as an example. You can stick photos or draw pictures, too.
In my summer holiday before this pandemic named Corona I went
to the seaside in Greece with mom and stepfather. I stayed in a small place
called Sarti.
We went to the beach every day. We went to some rocky part
of the beach. Every day we watched Greek movies at the hotel where we
stayed. Every day we ate pizza, gyros, bread with strawberry jam and
seafood (fish and octopus). One day while we were still in Greece we
sailed on a tourist boat. We were on a lot of other beaches like orange
beach and blue coral. We were also on a beach that had black sand. When
we had to go back, there were huge waves.
It was a lot of fun and
interesting. I had a great time.

Two years ago I went to Greece, Parga. We stayed at a hotel for ten days.
The first day we were tired, so we didn't go to the beach. The next day we went to the beach and I swam in the sea. It was cold!
Next to the beach, there is a little city. There we tried traditional Greek food gyros. It's tasty!
All the days were the same. But one day was different. Then we went to a ship.

My family and I went by car to the seaside. We placed all of our stuff at our apartment, had some lunch and went to the beach.
We saw a lot of boats and a submarine. The weather was good, but sometimes it rained.
I had a lot of fun. We tried jetskis, went on a boat ride and my sister and I went to a bouncy castle. I liked it. I remember I saw a huge wave. It was bigger than a house. It caught me and my goggles almost fell off.
All in all, I had so much fun!

I spent my summer holiday with my parents and brother at the seaside in Greece.
I really love the sea and the sun. I swam and played volleyball on the sandy beach all day. In the evening we walked and ate gyros. I met the little girl Elena. Her grandfather drove us by boat. It's always interesting to me at the seaside.
I would love to go there this summer too.

During the summer holidays before Corona, I went out with my dad and sister every day and played volleyball. Every weekend I cleaned my room and helped my mom with other household chores. I went on vacation with my family and saw the beautiful sea. At sea I went to the beach every day and swam.
I spent my last summer before Corona with my family in Egypt. We were there for 15 days. We had a great time. We went swimming every day. We also went snorkeling and fishing. I went with my little brother to the aqua park in our hotel. We ate a lot of icecream and different fruits, but then my brother got sick and we spent our last two days in hospital. He was very sick and we were worried. After that we came back home in Serbia. At home I played with my friends. We rode bicycles and went to the swimming pool.
Last year my mom and I went to Bosnia and Herzegovina to visit my grandmother.
I
saw a beautiful nature and animals. I ate delicious food. I also saw a
scary snake under a rock and a big bear in the forest. I walked to the
market every day.

In
the summer two years ago I visited Greece, the island of Corfu. We
landed at the airport near the city and arrived at the hotel in the
evening. We visited the most beautiful beaches on the island and played
volleyball on the sand. We made sand towers and sculptures. We liked the
food a lot, especially gyros, fried fish and tzaziki salad.

We went to my grandparents'. My sisters and I went outside to play. We didn't watch TV much. We went for a walk with our horse Leo. We also went for a walk in the woods. We took pictures and watched the nature. When we were bored, we cleaned our room and house. Afterwards, we listened to music while playing board games. In the end, we washed our hair and went to sleep.

I spent the holiday before Corona playing with my friends. I went to the mountains and saw all sorts of new things in various cities. I took photos to remind me of that holiday.

Touch
This is one of the last songs we learned this school year. My 7-year-olds didn't quite like Mrs Potato singing the song, but they liked the moves and that 'woo' sound.

The Mixed-Up Chameleon
I've recently shared with my youngest ones the book and the animated film about the chameleon which was so bored and unhappy with his own looks that he wanted so much to fit in and look more like other animals he saw in a zoo. To my students' surprise, the chameleon's wishes came true, so he turned into what they called 'a transformer'. They kept on asking why he would do something like that to himself when he was already a cute animal. But, when he was hungry and wasn't able to catch his favourite food - a fly, the chameleon wished he could be himself again and his wish came true.
As a follow-up, I asked my students to illustrate the moment when the chameleon became all mixed-up.
We also revised the colours and body parts of different animals.

Clothes Chant
Although they found it pretty challenging at first, all groups of my Class 1 pupils learned this chant by heart. Most of them even said that it was their favourite song from this school year.
