Busy Week

This is a catchy song, great for revising the days of the week and free-time activities:

It's a busy, busy, busy, busy,
Busy, busy, busy week...

On Mondays we go swimming.
On Tuesdays we play ball.
On Wednesdays and on Thursdays,
We play computer games.

On Fridays we play football.
On Saturdays we sing.
On Sundays we play hide-and-seek.
Oh, what a busy week!

It's a busy, busy, busy, busy,
Busy, busy, busy week...

Oh, yeah!

HIPPO 2023 European Finals

The European finals of the Hippo English Language Olympiad on 23 - 25 May in Jesolo, Italy, gathered 176 competitors from 22 countries.

This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to make new friends, play on the beach, solve challenges in a team Treasure Hunt around the resort, hang out and take photos with the mascot Ippo, try Italian specialties, as well as visit nearby Venice by boat and spend a wonderful afternoon exploring this special open-air museum.

My Class 5 pupil, Nikola Tomić, competed against 37 other peers from 18 countries and scored 30 points in the Hypo 1 category, 9 fewer than the first-placed girl from Bulgaria. The award ceremony was held at the Vivaldi Auditorium on 24 May.

Our Future, Our School!

This spring, my Class 7 pupils have taken part in the Express Publishing Contest which challenged them to imagine, describe and draw the school in 2050.

The organisers congratulated them on their original and creative ideas.

Team Sports

Swimming, gymnastics, water polo and handball are just some of the sports my Class 3 pupils like.
As a follow-up, I asked them to write about their favourite team sports. I shared with them a model on the board.

Big, Wide World

Another generation of Class 3 pupils seems to enjoy this song, too:

It's a big, wide world out there,
And there's so much to see.
I'd like to fly around the world,
Why don't you come with me...?

I'd like to go to Africa,
I'd like to see a snake.
I'd like to take it to my house,
And feed it bread and cake.

It's a big, wide world...

I'd like to go to Canada,
I'd like to see a bear.
I'd like to take it to my house,
And give it boots to wear.

It's a big, wide world...

I'd like to go to Italy,
I'd like to eat ice cream.
I'd like to take some to my house,
It isn't just a dream.

It's a big, wide world...
