Animal Parade (song)

Here's another cute action song from our books, sung by my class II5 in March 2010.

The lyrics are as follows:
Chorus
Come and see the animals
Come and see the parade.

Here comes the elephant
With his funny nose
Come and see the elephant
With his funny nose!

Chorus

Here comes the monkey
With his funny face
Come and see the monkey
With his funny face!

Chorus

Here comes the crocodile
With his funny tail
Come and see the crocodile
With his funny tail!

Chorus

Valentine's Day 2010

And now some poetry:

Love Story

I still remember the day
When my love ran away.

Day and night
I was always by your side.

I don’t know why, but without you
It’s hard to survive.

It’s true, so true,
I’m still in love with you.

Milica Marić, VI2, February 2010

It’s a little magic

Snowflakes are falling,
Holidays are here,
We get together
It’s the best time of the year.

Wishes come true upon a star
No matter where you are
It’s a little magic,
Something wonderful.

I see it, believe it,
I get the feeling,
Nothing’s impossible
When I’m with you.

Mysteries (notes)

It happened when I was ten years old. My parents were not at home so I was alone all day. I just finished watching the “Home Alone” films, made myself something to eat and surfed the Net for a while. Since I had to wake up early for school, I lay on my bed, but simply could not sleep. At midnight sharp something started knocking on my window. I was scared. I looked through the window and there was nothing. Suddenly, the door started to open... I could not move. A ghost appeared right in front of me. It looked like it was my grandfather who died ten years ago. I felt peaceful then. He laughed and showed me a book called “Ghosts, witches and monsters”. Just for a second I closed my eyes and when I opened them again my grandfather was gone. It was the sight which I will never forget.

I was nine years old if I can remember... My mum was going to work, when I had a strange dream.
It was a rainy day, my mum was riding a bike when suddenly she fell down and broke her finger. I was running to help her, but then I woke up. When I woke up, I got the phone as quickly as possible and called her.... Her boss answered the phone and told me that she was in hospital... I waited for her to come back home... When she came back, I saw that her finger was broken... I asked her how she did that and she told me that she fell down. For about four years I have been trying to solve this mystery, but I still haven’t. (Maybe, I need to call the MYTHBUSTERS!!!!).....

Filip Smiljanić, VI2, February 2010

It was a dark and rainy night. I was having a bath when the phone rang. I went to the phone and answered it. I heard a scary, noisy voice on the other side, saying, ‘You’ll die in six days, six hours and six minutes!’ I was scared and couldn’t sleep all night. But the next day at school I found out that the scary voice on the phone was my friend Filip’s and that it was a joke.

It was raining. Max felt bored watching through the window. He turned around and saw the house was in a mess... everything was covered with white sheets. He freaked out. He went to the kitchen and saw two monks sitting on the chairs. He sat on the rocking chair. One of the monks jumped up and pointed his finger straight to Max. Another one stepped on his foot and started singing and spilling water all around the place. At that moment, Max felt pain, like something was cutting him apart. Then he realized that those monks were getting rid of ghosts, and that he was probably a ghost himself. The monks then banished him. Spooky!

What's the weather like? (kids singing)

This is a catchy song, with the modern beat, perfect for learning the weather words.

Here are the lyrics to sing along:

What's the weather like?
What's the weather like?
Tell me, please
What's the weather like?
Listen to me
Woo, whoo, whoo
Listen to me
It's windy!

What's the weather like?
What's the weather like?
Tell me, please
What's the weather like?

Listen to me
Drip drop, drip drop,
Listen to me
It's rainy!

What's the weather like?
What's the weather like?
Tell me, please
What's the weather like?

Listen to me
Crunch, crunch, crunch
Listen to me
It's snowy!

Here, it's sung by my II6 class:

Storytime

The Elf and the Fairy

Once upon a time, in a small village called Elven, there lived a little elf, Monica.
Monica had super powers, but nobody knew that. She was the protector of a crystal called ‘the Kiss of Eve.’
One day, while Monica was walking in the forest, picking berries, she heard some noise. Monica was scared at first, but soon realised that the noise came from the little fairy Susan. Susan had golden wings and she told Monica that she was her protector fairy.
Monica asked the fairy, ‘Can I talk to you, please?’ And they started talking… The fairy was so happy; she found her elf and a friend.
A few days later, when Monica woke up, she called Susan, but she didn’t come. Monica called out Susan’s name again, but there was no reply. So, Monica went to Susan’s place. But, Susan wasn’t there. Instead, she found a note saying, ‘If you want to see your fairy, bring me the yellow berry.’
Monica tried to find the berry alone, but had no luck. So, she had to ask a powerful wizard for help. The wizard offered to give her the yellow berry, but asked something else in return, ‘I’ll give you the yellow berry, if you give me the water potion of Aura.’
Monica could make magic potions, but this was the only one she couldn’t make. She tried to find it and had more luck this time. As soon as she gave the potion to the wizard, he gave her the promised yellow berry for the Demon.
It was a strong and smart demon, whose heart was pure evil, and nobody trusted him. But, Monica had to trust him. She went to the forest and called him out. The Demon came and Monica gave him the yellow berry. Then, she told him to release the fairy, but he couldn’t, saying, ‘She is in the hands of Devil Locke.’
Monica flew to Locke’s place and found him playing a game with Susan. The game was called ‘Play or pay’ and it was a cool and interesting game. Monica didn’t know what to do, but the fairy told her to sit and watch.
Locke was a master of tricks and jokes, and he had the first round. ‘No rules? I will still play fair!’ the fairy thought. But, Locke still cheated, and he almost won, but… at the last moment, she won. Monica was happy and the fairy was too. Locke told Susan, ‘Great game!’ and he flew away.
Monica and Susan decided to always be together and they lived happily ever after.
