Hansel and Gretel

 My Class 2 pupils have recently accepted the challenge of their younger friends from a Greek kindergarten and added a few details to the collaborative online drawing.

After a quick poll about their favourite number, they've chosen the next collaborator.

Thanksgiving Day 2022

We started the lesson by watching the presentation our American friends had shared with us. We admired their creative works of art with colourful autumn leaves and pine cones.

Then, we talked about the people and things that make our lives more beautiful, so I asked my pupils to draw their hand and use each finger to write who or what they're thankful for. Later, we transformed each hand print into a turkey. It was interesting to hear their thoughts.

Fantastic Creatures

We've recently revised the names of different wild animals and body parts, so I asked my Class 3 pupils to use their imagination and create some fantastic creatures. Here's the result:

We've shared the video and the presentation with our friends from the Unlock the Magic! eTwinning project.

Habitats

 My Class 3 pupils and I have recently talked about different animal families, what they look like, what they eat, and where they live.

In their chosen groups, they've created posters of the animals which live in the polar regions, oceans, forests, jungles and deserts.

Places in a town

We started the lesson with a short warm-up. I asked my Class 5 pupils to name different buildings according to where they are on the poster.

Then, we talked about their favourite places around our town, why and how often they go there, and who with.

We did a few writing and speaking tasks in the books, and then the pupils decided which group they wanted to join for the station rotation activity. Each group had to finish their task before moving to the next station:

  • play an online game to check the spelling of a place;
  • read the description and stick different buildings where they belong;
  • order the dialogue and act out the situation in the street to practise giving directions;
  • play an online game to guess the correct place;
  • design your ideal neighbourhood.

It was a lot of fun.

The Day of the Dead

Our friends from California shared with us their traditions and creative works of art, and we prepared for them the quiz inspired by the animated film Coco:

Hallowe'en 2022

This year's Hallowe'en lessons were a lot of fun, too.

With my younger pupils, I used a mind map to talk about the children's holiday. Class 2 pupils also sang their favourite Trick or Treat song, Class 3 pupils matched body parts and created different creatures, Class 5 pupils chose and sang various songs, and Class 7 pupils played games.
