We started the lesson with a short warm-up. I asked my Class 5 pupils to name different buildings according to where they are on the poster.
Then, we talked about their favourite places around our town, why and how often they go there, and who with.
We did a few writing and speaking tasks in the books, and then the pupils decided which group they wanted to join for the station rotation activity. Each group had to finish their task before moving to the next station:
- play an online game to check the spelling of a place;
- read the description and stick different buildings where they belong;
- order the dialogue and act out the situation in the street to practise giving directions;
- play an online game to guess the correct place;
- design your ideal neighbourhood.
It was a lot of fun.
