Book Fair 2022

October is the book month in Serbia. Libraries usually organise different activities to promote reading. Some schools also organise book donations. But, one of the most important events takes place in the second half of October - the Belgrade Book Fair, the largest one in this part of Europe.

A group of teachers and older pupils visited the Fair on 30 October:

Pencil Holders

Making a pencil holder can be a lot of fun. All you need is a toilet paper tube, some colourful paper, scissors and glue, lots of it.

What's this?

My 8-year-olds just love this song!

Look at the desk,
Look at the desk,
The desk is in a mess!

Is it your pen?
Is it your book?
Is it your pencil case?
Yes or no?
Tell me, Joe.

It isn't my pen.
It isn't my book.
It isn't my pencil case.
Oh, no, no!
No, no, no!

Look at the desk,
Look at the desk,
The desk is in a mess!

Fairy Tales

We've recently joined our younger eTwinning friends in the STEAM with fairy tales project.

We've talked about our favourite fairy tales, drew our favourite characters, voted for our favourite ones, and turned Manja's drawing into an online puzzle.

Code Week 2022

During Europe Code Week, my pupils and I organised interesting activities with our eTwinning friends.

In groups, Class 2 pupils used the codes to colour the pictures of a dog, pig and hedgehog.

My older pupils enjoyed creating and playing games.

The Alphabet

In our country, children learn the Cyrillic alphabet first and officially start learning Latin in Class 2. Although they haven't started learning it with their class teacher, we've recently covered the English alphabet in our lessons.

I shared the video with our American friends.

Connecting with the World

Thanks to Empatico, we've recently connected with schools in Anaheim and Bronx, the USA, and my Class 2 pupils were happy to introduce themselves to their new friends and share what they like. I recorded them in their classroom and in the school park.
