What a place!

Write about Kikinda or choose one of the places in Serbia. It can be a city, town or village.

• Write an article to describe the chosen place. Use 100-120 words.
  Organise your writing into 4 paragraphs:
  

Paragraph 1: What is its name? Where is it located? How many people live there?
Paragraph 2: What can tourists see there? What are its main landmarks? Why are they important?
Paragraph 3: What can tourists do there? What kind of entertainment is offered? Are there any special celebrations or festivals organised there?
Paragraph 4: Give your general opinion of this place. How do you feel about this place? What would you recommend?

• Design a brochure for the place you know. It can be your hometown, or another town, city or village in Serbia.
  Include these headings:

How to Get There: Where is it located? How is it connected to the other places? How good is the public transport?
Places to See: What important sights can tourists visit? What places are worth visiting?
Things to Do: What interesting activities can tourists do? What can tourists do for entertainment?
Eating Out: Where can tourists try quality food?
Final Thought: Why is this place a must? Why should tourists visit it?

Tour Leaflets

Imagine you own a travel agency. Design your own tour leaflet about a popular destination.

Don't forget to include the following:

• the name of your travel agency;
• the place and time the tour sets off;
• the agenda (use First, Then, Finally);
• how long the tour lasts;
• the price per person;
• the name of the landmark / popular building;
• a short description of the landmark / building (What is it? Where is it? Who built it and why?);
• any additional comments (a legend about the place or something special about the building).

Kristian's Exploration Camp

Kristian's Exploration Camp is a teen camp on Kopaonik Mountain which lasts 10 days. The kids can wake up any time they want under the condition to arrive on time for breakfast which starts at 8 a.m. At 11 o'clock we are going for a walk around the forest and having lessons about the nature's wonders. We will come back to camp at 6 p.m.

Muffin's Camp

If you want to have the unforgettable summer, you need to come to Muffin's Sport Camp. It is on Mountain Zlatibor in Serbia.
This camp is for boys and girls who are between 6 and 17 years old. Here you can do any kind of sports. You can swim, play volleyball, football, handball or basketball. Also, the camp has a room with computers. Every evening we have parties around the pool.
The camp is open from July 1st to August 15th. Two-week session costs 250 € and four-week session costs 450 €.

Milan's Summer Camp

Welcome to Milan's Summer Camp! It's an adventure camp. It starts on 1st June and ends on 27th August. It's the camp for those who are 13 to  19 years old. 

In this camp, you can go swimming, rafting, scuba-diving or hiking. In July, you can go to Disneyland, but you must pay £100 if you want to stay 2 weeks. You can go on a trip to the countryside if you like planting flowers and trees. You'll go to the museum and see a lot of sculptures and souvenirs. This is very interesting. You'll probably have a great time. In the end, you'll go to the cinema and watch action films, like Transformers or Iron Man.

Summer Sport Camp

Visit the National Park Tara with us, play volleyball, basketball and football. Those who don't like these types of sports can go hiking in the mountains. We also have a snack between the visit to the National Park and activities. 

This camp is for children aged 11 to 15 years and costs 3,000 dinars. 

The camp starts on 1st July and ends on 20th July. 

Be sure to visit our camp because you will have a great time and get to know Mountain Tara better.

Save the Elephants! (essay)

The African elephant is classified as a member of the order Proboscidea and family Elephantidae. 

It is the largest land mammal. It has a heavy, grey body, four legs and a short tail. Its head is large with two huge ears, two small eyes, a trunk and two teeth called tusks. These animals are herbivore. 

The elephant's eyesight is not very good and it uses its big ears for ventilation and communication. It can weigh up to six tons. The trunk is used for breathing, smelling, drinking water, picking food, breaking branches and fighting. 

Elephants are ready to mate at the age of 15 or 16. The mating pair will often separate from the herd for a few weeks. After 21 to 22 months, one calf is born.

The African elephants live in Africa, south of the Sahara desert, in tropical forests, savannah areas, deserts and river valleys. They are endangered, because poachers kill them for their ivory tusks. 

In the prehistory, there were about 300 species of elephants, and now there are only two! We must do something to save them. We can put them in game parks with cameras around their necks. The law can also help by preventing poaching. We can ban the selling of ivory. 

If we prevent the elephants from becoming extinct, we will save many other animals, too. That is how the nature works!
