Favourite Restaurants

In our latest food-themed lesson, my Class 4 pupils described their favourite restaurants—and shared who they like going there with. This writing task was a great way to practise food vocabulary and share personal experiences.

We started by creating a mind map on the board. The ideas included: location, size, looks, waiters, food (what they usually order), prices, and who they like going there with. Pupils copied it into their notebooks and filled in their own words—like big or small, modern or cosy, helpful or patient, pizza or pancakes, cheap or expensive.

Each pupil then wrote a short paragraph about their favourite place to eat. A few volunteers read their work aloud, and the class gave them warm feedback.

My favourite restaurant is McDonald's. I visit it once a month, with my family.
It is big and the colour of its walls is white. There are no pictures.
You can order burgers, chips, coca cola, ice cream. My menu includes a burger and a vanilla shake.
I like going there because the prices are okay.

Dante is my favorite restaurant. Dante is near the bus station in Kikinda. I go there with my mother a few times a week.
Dante is a big and very modern place. The walls are blue and white. There are some  paintings and lamps on the walls and some  flowers.
We can order food, drinks, coffee and desserts there. My favorite thing on the menu is soup, chicken nuggets and chips with cucumber salad and for dessert a pancake with chocolate cream. I like eating there because the food is very tasty.
I like that restaurant because the place is very nice.

My favourite restaurant is called Rebos. I was there once with my sister and my mother.
It is big and very cosy. Everything is made of wood and looks like a big, warm living room. The walls are brown, just like wood.
You can order cooked meals, sandwiches, all kinds of pizza and cakes.
My favourite food to order is pizza. I like it veeeery much!
I like going there because it feels like home.

My favorite restaurant is Bob. Bob’s in Melenci.
It is a small place and the walls are green, but it it beautiful.
The menu has burgers, sandwiches, hotdogs, coca-cola, and orange juice. My favorite thing is a burger.
The prices are good, and I like eating there because the food is delicious!

My Favourite Restaurant

My favourite restaurant is 'Belavila'. It is in the centre of our town. I usually go there with my mum when she feels lazy and doesn't want to cook. 

This restaurant is modern and furnished really nice. It is small, the tables are big, and on the left side of the restaurant there's the kids' play area. 

I love going there because people who work there are kind to their guests, always smile and think positive. The dishes are always different. It depends on the day of the week, so it's always different. My favourite meal there is pasta with meat in mushroom sauce. The prices are sometimes low or high, which depends on how much the food costs. 

My mum is not a really good cook, so I love going there. The food is so tasty, the atmosphere is great and people smile all the time. It's the most perfect restaurant I have ever been to.

My favourite restaurant is the 'Big ship'. It is located in Koper, on the Adriatic coast. I go there with my family every time I am in Koper.

The restaurant is designed as a ship, inside and outside. The waiters and all the staff are dressed like sailors. They smile and they are kind. The food is delicious. I have tasted a lot of tasty dishes, but the most beautiful ones are seafood and calamari.

The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing at the 'Big ship'.

The place where I often go with my family is called Slap in Serbian. In English, we can call it Waterfall. It is a pizza house, located in Nikola Francuski Street.

I really like going there so much because both the interior and exterior are well-decorated. Inside, there are a lot of leather dining boots and mirrors, so it looks more spacious than it really is. Outside, there is a  wonderful garden with beautiful flowers. 

The service is fine. The staff are kind and hospitable. The dishes are tasty and the portions are large enough. The prices are acceptable.

I gladly recommend visiting Slap because it is the best pizza house in our town.

My favourite restaurant is Twenty. The restaurant is located at the square of Kikinda. Every day a lot of people visit the restaurant. Lots of tourists and celebrities visit it when they come to Kikinda.
Outside the restaurant is a large garden full of flowers with tables and chairs. The garden overlooks the square full of various plants, birds and smiling children. Inside the restaurant, there are beautifully set tables of different sizes and shapes with decorations on them.
The dishes are always tasty and interestingly served. The staff are friendly and polite to guests. The dishes are delicious and the prices low.
I recommend that you go to this restaurant and try all of the dishes but pizza is a must!

My favourite restaurant is Bela Vila. It is located in the main street of Kikinda, Svetosavska.
The restaurant has a lot of visitors. The outside of Bela Vila is very beautiful. There is a small area where guests can sit during the summer. Outside, there are also a lot of flowers covering the restaurant. The inside is very big. The walls are covered with a lot of beautiful paintings. 

The service is quick. The staff are really polite and friendly. The dishes are tasty and the prices are very low.
I recommend Bela Vila to you because it is a perfect restaurant when you want to go out for lunch with your family.

My favourite restaurant is called 'Santa Maria'. It is located in the Ovčar-Kablar Gorge. It is a fish restaurant.

It is an often visited place because of the delicious food and a nice view. The restaurant is placed on a wooden raft on the river side. It has a roof with a blind on the terrace. The restaurant is painted dark green and bright yellow. 

Inside the restaurant, there are a lot of flower pots with colourful flowers. There is a model of a sailing ship and stuffed fish.

The staff are friendly and polite. There are a lot of fish dishes at affordable prices. 

I would recommend this restaurant because of the good view on the mountains and tasty dishes.

When I was on holiday in Sokobanja with my parents, I visited the most beautiful restaurant I've ever seen, the Cave restaurant.
It's very interesting because it's located in the suburbs, in the forest, not in the centre of the city. A lot of tourists visit this restaurant every year.
All the tables and chairs are made of wood and they are under a rock, at the entrance to the cave. A narrow shallow river flows nearby and the visitors can cross it over a wooden bridge. What a wonderful view!
People usually drink coffee and juice there. They mostly eat different types of meat, soups, salads and desserts. But, the best-selling and the tastiest dish is fresh trout. Most dishes have reasonable prices, but some are more expensive. The staff are kind and pleasant.
The Cave restaurant in Sokobanja is my favourite restaurant, because I enjoy the nature. It's beautiful and relaxing to have lunch in the forest and listen to the birds and the ripple of the river.

My favourite restaurant is Macchiato. It is in the centre of the city. I went to Macchiato every day in the winter, but now I go there once a week.
It is big and you can sit downstairs, upstairs and outside. The walls outside are yellow. The inside walls are purple and it is dark.
The service is very good and the waiters are fast. The prices are very low.
The food is very tasty. Pizza is the tastiest in Macchiato. It is always full of guests and there we can listen to music or watch a match on TV.
I like eating in Macchiato.

My favourite restaurant (reviews)

My favourite restaurant is called 'Graveyard'. It has a special place in the town - it's in the centre.

The decorations are scary, but children love going there. The food is delicious and in all kinds of shapes: spiders, webs and so on. The waiters are fast but creepy too. Some of them are dressed like vampires and the others like witches. It's a little expensive, because every time you go there you put your life at stake - it's one bite per person. The real price is 15-30 euros. 

'Graveyard' is a really scary restaurant but you should go there. And don't stay too long. Maybe you won't get out.

My favourite restaurant is called 'Cataclysm'. It's in the City of New York.

The decorations are really fantastic. The waiters are fast and well-dressed. The food is delicious. The prices are not expensive. They range from 15 euros for a child to 30 euros for an adult.

In the restaurant there are some computers where you can play online games.

'Cataclysm' is very popular with people, so don't miss going there.

My favourite restaurant is 'Lovac' (Hunter). It's outside of Kikinda, towards Mokrin.
The decor is traditional and you can see some stuffed animals from our environment there.The food is great and really tasty. Most of it are local dishes. The service is really fast and waiters are very friendly and helpful. Also, the prices are reasonable so you won't harm your wallet.
In one word, it's a really good restaurant and I'd recommend it to anyone.

My favourite restaurant is 'Two Sticks'. It's at 288 Marko Street.
The decor's very beautiful. On Monday evenings, you can listen to rock music. The cooks and waiters are very friendly. The restaurant's famous because the Chinese make their specialities there. People can eat fish, meat, poached ice cream, rice, potatoes or pizza. The prices are reasonable. They range from 10 - 20 euros for lunch and 30 - 40 euros for dinner.
'Two Sticks' is very popular with people of all ages. Make sure you're really hungry, too, because the servings are huge.
Everyone should try this restaurant at least once in their life.

My favourite restaurant is 'Black Jack'. It's at 19 Serbian Street and it rocks.
The decor is modern. They have all the new technology. They give the best food, which is also prepared in the best world restaurants. The service is kind of slow, but the waiters are really friendly. Also, there are many kinds of dishes, Chinese, Italian and others. Every day, they play cool music. I would give them 4 stars, because their expensive price takes off one star.
This place is really popular and one of the best in this city. I would recommend everyone to try it. I always go there, 'cos 'BJ' rocks!

The decor is very old-fashioned. The food is tasty. The waiters are friendly. The serving is huge, but the prices are reasonable.

My favourite restaurant is 'McDonald's'. It's a fast food restaurant, but it's in Subotica. Kikinda doesn't have one.
The decor is modern. There is an excellent service, friendly and helpful waiters, and delicious dishes. There are a lot of dishes to choose from, such as hamburgers, cheeseburgers, French fries, etc. The prices are for every family.
'McDonald's' is very popular with young people. The food is great, and if you visit it, you won't make a mistake.

My favourite restaurant is ‘Ungar Grill’ in Vienna. It is at 61 Jakobstraße and it’s very beautiful.
The décor is traditional. There are old pictures and music instruments on the walls.
The restaurant is famous for its excellent service, delicious dishes and friendly waiters. Prices are reasonable.
‘Ungar Grill’ is a very popular restaurant in Vienna. Servings are huge and you will not be hungry.

My favourite restaurant is 'Mojo Club'.
The decor is modern and colourful. There are posters of some of the famous music groups, like the Tolling Stones, Hallowe'en, Grin Rieper, the Grave digger...
The service is fast and excellent. The waiters are very friendly. The dishes are delicious and tasty. There are lots of pizzas, like the pineapple surprise, lots of pastas and Italian food.
The prices aren't so high, so stop by whenever you're hungry.
