Fruit Salad

As we all know, children, even some of us adults, like playing games. Fruit salad is one of them.

Since we played it in the classroom, we didn't use the chairs, because it would take a long time to move all the desks and put the chairs in the middle.

So, we formed a circle and chose one pupil to stand in the centre. I gave all the other pupils their fruit names (apple, banana, orange). Then, the real thing happened: the pupil in the centre called out apples and all the apples had to change places while the others just remained still. Even the pupil in the centre tried to find an empty place, so that another one can stand in the centre of the circle. The game turned even more excited when the pupil in the centre called out the fruit salad and everyone had to change places.

There was a lot of bumping into each other and screaming, but we all had a lot of fun.

HIPPO 2016

Three of my oldest students took part in the 4th International Competition in English Language HIPPO on 5 March. As usual, the exam consisted of 3 parts: reading comprehension (40 multiple choice questions, 1 point each), listening comprehension (20 questions, 1.5 points each) and writing (20 questions, 10 of the same level as the test and 10 of a higher level, 1.5 points each, and a short essay - a description of their favourite place). This time, the top 10% of participating students from each participating country will be invited to the regional semi-final round.

Our school hosted this year's preliminary round.
