Happy Holiday!

This song's just perfect for the end of the school year, and my Class 2 pupils loved it the moment they heard it the first time.

Let's go to the beach.
Let's look for shells.
Let's play in the sand.
Let's run hand in hand.

Happy holiday,
Happy holiday,
For you and me.

Let's take a photo.
Let's catch a fish.
Let's swim in the sea,
1, 2, 3!

Happy holiday...

I also asked them to add their own two lines and illustrate them, and here are the results:

Cool Cats

This is another song my Class 2 pupils enjoy singing. Probably because of the 'Meow' sound, but okay. It's great for revising clothes:

I'm a cool, cool cat.
Meow, meow, meow!
I like this super hat.
I'm a cool, cool cat.

Cool shoes and cool jackets,
Cool socks and super shorts,
Cool T-shirts and cool sweaters,
And cool, cool skirts.

We're cool, cool cats.
Meow, meow, meow!
We like these super hats.
We're cool, cool cats...
Meow!

Clothes

This is a catchy song about clothes, things and colours. My Class I3 like singing it:

Our Pets

Ever since they've learned the Pet song, my Class I2 pupils ask to sing it in every lesson. It's perfect for learning or revising the names of pets and opposites.

When, at the end of the school year I asked them to name their favourite song, most of them voted for this one:

Meera: My name's Meera,
And this is my fish.
It's a long fish.
It's a long fish.

Lenny: My name's Lenny,
And this is my bird.
It's a happy bird.
It's a happy bird.

Stella: My name's Stella,
And this is my cat.
It's a clean cat.
It's a clean cat.

Suzy: My name's Suzy,
And this is my dog.
It's a big dog.
It's a big dog.

Mrs Star: My name's Mrs Star,
And this is my horse.
It's a beautiful horse.
It's a beautiful horse.

Stella: My name's Simon,
And this is my mouse.
It's a small mouse.
Suzy: It's an ugly mouse.
Simon: No, it isn't.
Stella: It's a dirty mouse.
Meera: It's a short mouse.
Lenny: It's a small mouse.
All: Yes, it's a small mouse.
Simon: Yes, it is.

Little House

When my pupils heard this song for the first time, they wished it was Halloween, because of its spooky sound. Since then, we've sung it at the beginning of our lessons and most of them have learned it by heart:

Come on, come on and see me,
In my little house.
There are lots of lovely animals,
In my little house.

There's a cat in the living room.
There's a spider in the kitchen.
There are seven crocodiles,
In my lovely bathroom.

Come on, come on and see me...

There's a snake in the cellar.
There's a lizard in my bedroom.
There are tigers, lots of tigers,
In my lovely garden.

Come on, come on and see me...

Acrostic Poem

Writing a collaborative acrostic poem with their friends from Spain and Poland was a lot of fun for my Class 4 pupils. They added three lines starting with T (These views are amazing), E (Excellent trips, come on here!) and S (Something unique in each state).

Looking at the map of the USA
Exchanging amazing information
Together we can explore
So, let's walk around the USA!

Walking through the countries
Adventure tourism from home
Looking up and down
Key places to visit

All the activities are creative
Right or left
Or
Up and down
No matter what
Day you will visit them

These views are amazing
Happiness of sharing them with you
Excellent trips, come on here!

Understanding new cultures
Students can celebrate now
Amazing country the USA!

Busy Week

Here's a lovely song about different activities we can do in a week:

It's a busy, busy, busy, busy,
Busy, busy, busy week...

On Mondays we go swimming.
On Tuesdays we play ball.
On Wednesdays and on Thursdays,
We play computer games.

On Fridays we play football.
On Saturdays we sing.
On Sundays we play hide-and-seek.
Oh, what a busy week!

It's a busy, busy, busy, busy,
Busy, busy, busy week...

Oh, yeah!

Tour Leaflets

Imagine you own a travel agency. Design your own tour leaflet about a popular destination.

Don't forget to include the following:

  • the name of your travel agency;
  • the place and time the tour sets off;
  • the agenda (use First, Then, Finally);
  • how long the tour lasts;
  • the price per person;
  • the name of the landmark / popular building;
  • a short description of the landmark / building (What is it? Where is it? Who built it and why?);
  • any additional comments (a legend about the place or something special about the building).

Use a free Canva template for this task. Make sure it catches the reader's attention.

Summer Plans

What are your plans for the summer holidays?

  • Where are you going to go? Who are you going to go with? How are you going to travel?
  • Where are you going to stay? How long are you going to stay there?
  • What are you going to do there? What are you going to see?

For the holidays I am going to go to the seaside with my parents, godparents and friends. We are going to travel by car. We are going to stay at a hotel. We are going to stay there for 10 days. The hotel has an aqua park where we are going to have fun all day. I hope to see a starfish this summer.

Petra Gačka, IV2

From the 3rd to the 14th of July I am going to Sarta in Greece. I am going with my family: mum, dad, sister, and brother. We are going to travel by car. We are going to stay at a hotel.
We are going to stop by Lake Ohrid along the way.

Magical Stories

A few months ago, different groups of my Class 4 and Class 6 pupils joined mixed international magical teams with teachers from different countries as their mentors. Their first task was to share their ideas about the topic and characters of collaborative chain stories. Then, one school started and illustrated their page, the next one added theirs, and so on. The pupils from each school had the opportunity to start, add and finish different stories which are published online.

Book titled 'The Magical World of Beatrix Potter'Read this book made on StoryJumper

I have to say that this activity was a bit challenging for some of my pupils, but they managed and were happy with the result.

My youngest pupils later illustrated the pages their older friends had added.

Walking around the USA

On the last day of May, a group of my Class 6 pupils joined the online meeting with our eTwinning friends from Spain, Poland and Turkey.

They shared what they learned about the USA, what they liked about the project, and played a Kahoot trivia quiz. It was a lot of fun.
