Count to Ten!

As always, we began our story lesson with the story cards and watched a short, animated video. Then, Class 1 pupils drew their favourite moment (without looking at the book pictures!) and played a guessing game with their drawings.

Most of them liked the part when the antelope thought of a clever way of counting.

My Favourite Sandwich

Both groups of my Class 4 pupils accepted my suggestion, prepared their favourite sandwiches at home, brought them to school, presented them to their classmates, and finally enjoyed eating them together.

Code Week 2024

We've marked this year's Code Week with our eTwinning partners by decoding peaceful messages.

First, the pupils explored various codes and chose the ones they wanted to use: Morse, Binary, Caesar or Pigpen Cipher, and Semaphore Flags. Then, they wrote their messages and challenged their project partners to decode them and use an AI tool to generate an image to accompany the code.

We've added these activities to the EU Code Week website.

Exemplar Lesson Plan

I am happy that the lesson plan about the weather I carried out last year with my Class 4 pupils has been commended in the international competition organised by Eduka Publishing Company.

The promotion of the Collection of all winning and commended lesson plans was organized on 24 October at the Book Fair in Belgrade.

My School

My Class 1 pupils had lots of fun learning about the things in our classroom! I drew a simple model on the board, and they copied it into their notebooks, colouring each item as instructed.

Afterwards, we learned a catchy chant where the children pointed to the window, the door, the board, the table, and the chair—clapping after each word and then stamping to the rhythm. The chant quickly became a favourite and filled the lesson with energy and laughter.

In My Bag

My Class 1 pupils loved learning about the things they carry to school in their bags! I drew a big bag in the middle of the board and placed items like a book, a pencil, a ruler, and a rubber around it. The children copied the idea into their notebooks, colouring the objects to match the ones in their own school bags. Finally, we repeated the words in English together, and sang a suitable song, turning the activity into a lively vocabulary practice.

The Queen Bee

My Class 1 pupils enjoy listening to stories, sharing their ideas, thinking about kindness, and drawing their favourite scenes.

First, they joined in telling the story by answering questions about the picture card. Then they watched a short, animated video, drew the part they liked best (without looking at the book illustrations!), and showed their drawings for classmates to guess.

When we read the story The Queen Bee, most of them liked the part when the animals helped the boy to thank him for his kindness and help.

Meet me

I've introduced my Class 4 pupils to easy avatar making website, so they quickly created their digital characters, downloaded and used them to introduce themselves to their eTwinning friends. They reviewed the parts of the head, used their creativity, practised writing and digital skills, and had fun along the way.
