Happy Holiday!

This song is perfect for the end of the school year, and my Class 2 pupils liked it right away. They enjoyed listening to this cheerful song about summer activities and tried to sing along.

Let's go to the beach.
Let's look for shells.
Let's play in the sand.
Let's run hand in hand.

Happy holiday,
Happy holiday,
For you and me.

Let's take a photo.
Let's catch a fish.
Let's swim in the sea,
1, 2, 3!

Happy holiday...

Basket

In our last lessons in Class 1, we revised vocabulary, chants, and songs we had learned, and decided to film the food song with short dialogues:

What's in your basket, your basket, your basket?
What's in your basket?
Apples for you.

What's in your basket, your basket, your basket?
What's in your basket?
Carrots for you.

Musical Instruments

In our lesson, we talked about musical instruments. The pupils said which ones they play and which ones they would like to learn one day. They also drew themselves playing their chosen instrument. Then, inspired by the song in our book, I asked them to make teams based on the instruments they had drawn and practise saying, “I can play the …”

Language Play

As part of the Year of Friendship & Discovery project, Class 5 pupils took part in several fun language activities with their international friends.

They added lines to the collaborative acrostic poem, generated images to illustrate their partners’ chosen lines and then recorded their voices using ChatterPix Kids and Blabberize

They pretended to take part in a Spelling Bee contest, prepared by our Spanish friends. It was challenging, but they really enjoyed the experience.

The pupils also shared their favourite tongue twisters on the forum, bringing lots of laughter and friendly challenges.

Finally, they played the game prepared by our Bosnian partners and did their best to answer the questions as quickly as they could.

These activities showed that learning languages can be fun, creative, and full of laughter.

Busy Week

This generation of Class 2 pupils also had fun learning the song that helped them practise the days of the week and different activities. Singing together made it easier to remember the words and brought lots of energy to our lessons.

It's a busy, busy, busy, busy,
Busy, busy, busy week...

On Mondays we go swimming.
On Tuesdays we play ball.
On Wednesdays and on Thursdays,
We play computer games.

On Fridays we play football.
On Saturdays we sing.
On Sundays we play hide-and-seek.
Oh, what a busy week!

It's a busy, busy, busy, busy,
Busy, busy, busy week...

Oh, yeah!

Cool Cats

Class 2 pupils love singing this song. The funny 'Meow' sound always makes them laugh, and at the same time they get to practise clothes words.

I'm a cool, cool cat.
Meow, meow, meow!
I like this super hat.
I'm a cool, cool cat.

Cool shoes and cool jackets,
Cool socks and super shorts,
Cool T-shirts and cool sweaters,
And cool, cool skirts.

We're cool, cool cats.
Meow, meow, meow!
We like these super hats.
We're cool, cool cats...
Meow!

One Book, Many Languages

As part of our The Seagull and the Cat project, my younger pupils joined friends from Albania, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Jordan, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, and Türkiye to create a story together.

Class 2 pupils illustrated the opening sentence of Part 1, Chapter 2. They added their picture and Serbian translation to StoryJumper and recorded their voices. They were very happy and proud to share their work.

Class 1 pupils illustrated the scene from Part 2, Chapter 5. They also added their picture and Serbian translation to StoryJumper and recorded their voices. They were excited and proud to hear their voices in the story.

It was a joyful experience for both classes. Their drawings and voices made the story come alive, and they showed great imagination and teamwork.

Alongside the book activities, Class 2 pupils also learned how to make paper bracelets. They carefully followed the instructions, drew the hearts and wrote the words: The Seagull and the Cat. Those who dare can fly. They enjoyed the task and felt proud of their creations.

Seasons

As a follow‑up to the lessons on clothes items, I taught my Class 1 pupils the seasons through an old chant with movements:

It’s hot outside,
I wear T‑shirts and shorts.
It’s summer, it’s summer, it’s summer.

It’s cold outside,
I wear a jacket and a scarf.
It’s winter, it's winter, it's winter.

The pupils enjoyed acting out the words, which made learning both fun and memorable.

Clothes

Đorđe, I3
My Class 1 pupils enjoyed learning the names of clothes through a lively chant. Together, we drew a washing line and hung the clothes in the order they appeared in the chant.

At first, it was a real challenge since the chant is a bit faster, but soon they caught the rhythm and followed along, repeating the words and pointing to the drawings. It was a fun way to practise vocabulary and remember the new words!

Art Class Finale

In the final stages of the Art Class project, Class 2 pupils enjoyed colouring their part of the poster and were pleased with the result.

Afterwards, they completed the final evaluation, reflecting on what they had learned, which themes and activities they enjoyed most, and what skills they felt they had improved. Some of the stronger pupils supported their peers by helping them complete the survey, showing teamwork and cooperation. Their answers highlighted pride in their work and enthusiasm for future collaboration.

Citizenship

As part of our Skills 4 Life in My Hat project activities, Class 6 pupils explored values and agreed that showing respect is the most important one.

First, they researched community rules that keep our town safe and friendly, such as Stop at signs, Keep our area clean, and Be polite and kind. They created a colourful poster called Our Community Rules! to show how small actions make a big difference. Then, they talked about how they feel when people don’t respect rules and made an expressive poster called It Doesn’t Feel Good! to remind everyone that kindness helps us all feel better. Next, they discussed what happens when people ignore laws or empathy and designed a warning poster called Big Problems! to show that following rules keeps us safe. After that, they discovered the benefits of living peacefully and created a bright poster called Together, We All Shine! They brainstormed ways to be good citizens—picking up litter, planting trees, helping others, and being kind—and made a cheerful poster called Let’s Be Good Citizens! Finally, they reflected on daily actions that show responsibility and created Real Life Choices!

Next, pupils created an imaginary city, suggested and voted for its name, and decided on the rules. After that, they discussed right and wrong behaviour by playing the True–Wrong Behaviour Game.

HIPPO 2026 European Finals

The European Finals of the HIPPO Contest, held from 17 to 20 May in Lido di Jesolo, Italy, brought together around 715 participants from 20 countries.

For our pupils, this was a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, enjoy the Adriatic coast, ride the Ferris wheel, taste Italian specialties, and take a boat trip to Venice.

My pupils achieved remarkable success:

  • Stefan Zekonja, II3 – scored 32 points in the Little Hippo category, just 6 points behind the first-placed girl from Bulgaria
  • Nađa Mandić, VI1 – placed in the top 20 in the Hippo 2 category
  • Nikola Tomić, VIII2 – ranked in the top 10 in the Hippo 3 category

The award and medal ceremony was held at the Palazzo del Turismo on 19 May.

Sustainability

As part of our Skills 4 Life in My Hat project activities, Class 6 pupils explored sustainability through creative tasks.

First, they searched for facts about water, energy, recycling, reusing, nature, and pollution. They designed a colourful Sustainability Facts Wall to show what they learned. Then, they explored emotions connected to pollution and made an emotion map with faces showing sadness, anger, worry, and hope. Next, they looked for planet problems such as pollution, deforestation, plastic waste, and climate change. After that, they discussed how science can help the Earth and made a bright Science Helps the Earth poster. They shared creative ideas like eco‑robots, reusable bags, and gardens for fresh food, designing a cheerful Let’s Go Green! poster. Finally, they wrote their class promises—recycle and reuse, save water, protect nature, reduce waste—and created a scroll poster called Our Sustainability Promise.

They also shared a problem—too much noise in the city—and wrote their part of the collaborative fable.

Pupils talked about sustainable schools, waste management, water use, and digital work in a sustainable school. They created AI generated images and joined the forum as Change Makers and Future Savers, sharing ideas about a dream school with flowers, bigger windows, new gadgets, and learning through play.

Class 2 pupils prepared containers and planted seeds, proudly showing their mini beans, wheat, and other plants growing in the classroom garden.

To finish, pupils completed the sustainability puzzle and proved that you are never too old for a good puzzle.

Super Friends

Class 2 pupils love reading the episodes about the Super Friends. Each time, they act out the story and try to be better with every new reading. Their enthusiasm grows as they practise, and the characters come to life in the classroom.

Reading together makes English fun for everyone.

Greetings from ...

Imagine that you're on holidays. Write a postcard to your friend. Use 50 - 60 words.

P1: Where are you writing from? Where are you staying? What does the place look like? What do you like the most about it?
P2: What is the weather like? What are you wearing?
P3: What are you doing now? Who is with you? What are they doing?
P4: What are you going to do next? Are you going to try any new food, games or activities? Where are you going to go? What are you going to see?

Remember to start your postcard with: Hi / Hello / Dear (your friend's name) and end it with: See you soon / Love, (your name)!

Hi, Vlade!
Greetings from Geneva, Switzerland.
The weather is cold today, so I’m wearing a sweater and sweatpants that are really warm and comfy.
Right now, I’m eating breakfast and getting ready to visit the famous castle Chillon.
Our hotel is near an Italian restaurant, so we eat there often. Yesterday, I tried Switzerland’s famous chocolate — it was very tasty!
Tomorrow we’re going to buy some souvenirs and scarves in the colours of Switzerland’s flag. My family and I are enjoying our holiday.
Hope you’re okay.
Write back!
Love,
Mila

Hi, Vukašin!
How are you? I’m on holiday in Moscow, Russia, with my family. We’re staying in a hotel near Red Square. Red Square is beautiful!
Every day we visit famous places in and around Moscow. Today we’re going to Zvenigorod. People call this place “Russian Switzerland” because of its beautiful nature and the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery near Zvenigorod.
The food is delicious — my favorite dish is soto.
Every evening we go to the flea market to buy souvenirs and clothes.
Hope you’re OK.
See you soon!
Milan

Hi Milan,
Greetings from Egypt!
I’m here with my family. There are lots of interesting things to see. We go sightseeing every day. We’ve already visited Karnak, the great temple of Luxor, and Lake Nasser.
A lot of animals live here, including crocodiles and gazelles.
In the evening we have dinner in local restaurants. The food is delicious.
We’ve taken lots of photos.
Tomorrow we’re going to Giza to see the pyramids and the Sphinx.
I’m so excited!
Write back,
Vukašin

Dear Marko,
How are you? I’m well.
Greetings from France! I’m here with my family. We’re staying in a hotel in Paris.
It’s sunny today, so I’m wearing a sweatshirt and pants.
We’ve just visited the Louvre Museum and seen the Mona Lisa. It’s a great painting!
We’re planning tomorrow’s route — we’re going to the Eiffel Tower. I think it’s big! After that, we’re going to Disneyland in Paris.
See you soon,
Andrija

A Very Hungry Caterpillar

The animated story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar quickly became another favourite in Class 1. Pupils were surprised at how much a small caterpillar could eat.

Afterwards, they made all kinds of food to retell the story. Soon we had apples, bananas, strawberries, and even salad, spaghetti and pizza, ready for filming their own version.

It was simple and playful.

Readers

In the second term, pupils individually selected books from the list according to their level, chose templates, and presented on their own. Not everyone was willing to present, but those who did received comments from classmates highlighting the good sides and the aspects that could be improved.

As usual, most pupils liked the templates or the way their peers presented the books, while everyone especially enjoyed the quiz.

Easter 2026

In our Easter lesson, Class 1 pupils talked about their own traditions, watched a short video about the Egg Hunt, and coloured the page in their books while singing a catchy Easter song.

Class 2 pupils shared their favourite Easter activities, followed my example on the board—drawing a big egg, colouring it red, and making a mind map. They added a chick, a bunny, chocolate, a basket, and hot cross buns. Afterwards, I taught them the Hot Cross Buns song and showed them the actions, which they repeated in pairs. Even after the lesson ended, you could still hear them singing Hot Cross Buns with smiles on their faces.

My older pupils enjoyed singing the same songs and playing the Easter online board game.

Our Animals

My Class 1 pupils used their colourful playdough to make their favourite animals. Soon, we recognised pets, insects, forest, jungle and other creatures in various shapes and sizes.
With one group, we watched an animated version of Eric Carle's Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and then recorded their own version.
With another group, we practised can for ability in a playful way.

Our Planet, Our Future

Class 5 pupils joined forces with their friends from the Year of Friendship & Discovery project to create a presentation about our environment. Together, they explored both the good sides—like clean air, trees, and recycling—and the bad sides, such as pollution, littering, and cutting down too many trees.

After sharing ideas, the pupils made their own promises for a greener future. They pledged to plant more trees, save water and energy, reduce waste, and protect nature in everyday life.

This activity showed them that even small steps can make a big difference.

Routines

Class 5 pupils worked together on a presentation about daily routines. They chose a Canva template and discussed how to describe a typical day, deciding which activities to include. They agreed on the text and illustrations, then shared their presentation in the Year of Friendship & Discovery project.

As part of the English Quest project Secret AI Mission: Routine Detectives, pupils helped an AI robot named AURA understand human life and traditions before it travels to different countries. They used Canva and Copilot to design their own robots. Soon we had both human‑looking and animal‑looking ones. Class 1 pupils examined all the designs and voted for the best. Marina’s cat robot dressed in white was chosen to represent our school.

In the forums, Class 5 pupils shared interesting details about their school life—their shifts, subjects, and facilities.
